About 105 Cup

The 105 Cup is a vibrant historic motorsport championship dedicated to celebrating the iconic Alfa Romeo 105 Series. Organised by the esteemed Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC), this series provides a competitive platform for genuine period Alfa Romeo Giulia GT and GTV coupés, Berlina saloons, and Spider roadsters. Eligibility is strictly limited to cars built or road-registered between January 1, 1963, and December 31, 1977, ensuring an authentic grid of classic machinery. A core tenet of the 105 Cup is its commitment to originality, with replicas and heavily modified vehicles expressly forbidden, preserving the true spirit of these beloved Italian sports cars. The championship features a structured class system to ensure fair and exciting competition across the diverse range of 105 Series models. Competitors are divided into three main categories: GT for cars up to 1600cc, GTV for those up to 2000cc, and a dedicated GTA class also for cars up to 2000cc. This classification allows for close racing within each group while showcasing the full spectrum of the 105 Series' performance capabilities. The 105 Cup calendar typically sees the series visit a selection of major British circuits, offering participants the thrill of racing on historic tracks. As an active and popular fixture on the British historic racing scene, the 105 Cup continues to attract a passionate community of Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and racers. It embodies the HSCC's mission to promote accessible and enjoyable historic motorsport, providing a fantastic spectacle for fans and a rewarding experience for drivers. The series remains a testament to the enduring appeal and engineering prowess of the Alfa Romeo 105 Series, fostering camaraderie and fierce on-track battles among its dedicated participants.
