Circuit
The Zhuzhou International Circuit (株洲国际赛车场) is a permanent motorsport facility in the Tianyuan District of Zhuzhou, in China's Hunan province, and was central China's first circuit built to FIA Grade 2 standards. Ground was broken in March 2018 in a project jointly developed by the Zhuzhou Hi-Tech Group and the Shanghai Lisheng Racing Company, with the venue forming part of a wider automobile expo site spread across some 750 acres. The 3.774 km main course was designed by Yao Qiming, described as China's first circuit designer, and gained its FIA Grade 2 homologation on completion in October 2019. The track offers several layouts, a number of which can be run simultaneously, and features noticeable elevation changes across the site. Its facilities are extensive, including a main pit and exhibition building with an 8,000-seat grandstand on its upper floors, 27 pit garages, VIP rooms, a press centre and a separate test-course grandstand and pit complex. A landmark 11-storey, 49-metre 'Release Centre' overlooks the first corner and houses circuit administration and VIP areas. Since opening, the circuit has become an established part of the Chinese national racing scene, hosting series such as the China Touring Car Championship, the China Endurance Championship, Formula 4 and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. The full circuit runs to 3.774 km over 14 turns, complemented by shorter and dedicated test configurations.
