Circuit

The Tokyo Street Circuit is a temporary street course laid out around the Tokyo International Exhibition Centre, better known as Tokyo Big Sight, in the Ariake waterfront district along Tokyo Bay only minutes from the city centre. Unveiled in October 2023, it staged the inaugural Tokyo E-Prix on 30 March 2024, giving Japan its first true street circuit and marking the first time an FIA world championship had raced on closed public roads in the capital. The layout combines the exhibition centre's internal roads with surrounding public streets, mixing tight corners and chicanes in the characteristic Formula E idiom with a handful of faster sweeps. The start/finish line, pits and paddock sit on the waterfront within the car parks of Big Sight's East Wing, with the opening corners forming a tight and twisty complex before the course opens out. A later section runs alongside an elevated light-rail line, echoing the feel of Formula E's London ExCeL layout. The circuit was modified for 2025, trimming both its length and corner count from the original 2024 version while keeping the same Big Sight setting. It is used exclusively by the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and carries FIA Grade 3E status. The blend of skyscraper backdrop and waterfront setting gives the venue a distinctive metropolitan atmosphere.

The Formula E street layout wrapped around Tokyo Big Sight, blending tight corners and chicanes with a high-speed corner and a run of sweepers alongside an elevated rail line. The 2025 revision shortened the lap and reduced the corner count from the original 2024 configuration.
