The Thermal Club is a private members' motorsport country club set in the Coachella Valley desert near Thermal, California, in Riverside County. Conceived in the early 2000s and developed by fuel-supply entrepreneurs Tim and Twanna Rogers, the facility broke ground in 2012 and opened in phases, with its first course completed in 2014 and further expansions in 2015 and 2017. Membership is tied to ownership of one of the luxury villas that overlook the circuit, making the venue effectively a gated community for affluent motorsport enthusiasts. Renowned designer Alan Wilson laid out three interlinked road courses - South Palm, North Palm and Desert - which can be run independently or joined into a single 5.1-mile GT configuration, yielding up to roughly twenty possible variations. Each course is distinguished by colour-coded kerbing, with red for South Palm, blue for North Palm and green for the Desert course. The site also features an eighteen-foot acoustic barrier known as the Great Wall of Thermal, along with extensive hospitality, storage and driving-school amenities, including a BMW Performance Driving Center West that opened in 2017. After hosting IndyCar pre-season testing on the Twin Palms layout, the venue staged the non-championship $1 Million Challenge in 2024 and a points-paying Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix in 2025. The circuit has also hosted SRO winter racing and, from 2026, rounds of Ferrari Challenge North America.
