The Bend Motorsport Park is a large modern motorsport complex at Tailem Bend in South Australia, around 100 kilometres south-east of Adelaide, built on the site of the former Mitsubishi test track that had lain dormant since 2008. Conceived by the Shahin family's Peregrine Corporation and announced in 2015 with state and federal government backing, the roughly 100 million dollar project broke ground in March 2016 and opened in January 2018, initially mooted as the South Australian Motorsport Park before adopting its current name. Its centrepiece is one of the longest permanent circuits in the world: the 7.77-kilometre GT Circuit is the second-longest permanent race track globally behind only the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and the longest in Australia. The facility offers as many as eight configurations sharing the main pit straight, combining technical corners, fast flowing sections and an aggregate rise and fall of around 85 metres. Beyond the bitumen road course it includes a multi-purpose stadium for drifting, karting and rallycross, a quarter-mile drag strip, off-road courses and trails, plus a four-storey pit building incorporating a 100-room hotel with rooms overlooking the track. The race circuits carry an FIA Grade 2 and FIM Category A licence, making The Bend one of only a handful of Australian venues licensed to that standard. The 4.95-kilometre International Circuit is the mainstay for racing, hosting the Supercars Championship, while the venue has also staged the Asian Le Mans Series, GT World Challenge Australia, Australian Superbikes and TCR. The circuit took on naming rights as Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in August 2023.
