Circuit
Teretonga, meaning "Swift South" in Māori, is a 2.570 km motor racing circuit located 8 km south-west of Invercargill, New Zealand. It is the home of the Southland Sports Car Club, which established the circuit in 1957. Teretonga is the country's oldest purpose-built venue and was the southernmost FIA-recognised race track in the world prior to 2023. Its regular racing programme includes rounds of the local Clubmans Series, South Island Racing Registers, and a large Classic Car meeting in February. The circuit is also utilized for Sprints, Motorkhanas, Motor Cycle, and Drag Races. Regarded by many drivers as the best and safest track in the country, it has undergone continual upgrades. The Southland Sports Car Club Inc. has been a leading club since 1948, and their entry into the International motor race series in 1956 led to Teretonga Park's construction at Sandy Point.
