Circuit

The Markham Street Circuit is a temporary road course laid out through the downtown precinct of Markham, Ontario, roughly 15 miles north-east of central Toronto. Designed by Tony Cotman of NZR Consulting, it forms a 12-turn lap measuring 2.19 miles around an area bounded by Kennedy Road, Enterprise Boulevard, the Unionville GO railway line and Highway 407. The circuit threads together several public roads, including Enterprise Boulevard, YMCA Boulevard, Unionville Gate, University Boulevard and Kennedy Road. Long straights are interspersed with tighter technical sections to create overtaking opportunities, and a hairpin feeds onto a lengthy straight where cars are expected to reach high speeds. An unusual feature is its double-sided pit lane, with garages on both sides, a configuration shared with only a handful of other street venues. The circuit was created to host the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy after the IndyCar Series event moved away from its long-standing home in Toronto. Its inaugural race is scheduled for August 2026 as the centrepiece of a multi-day summer festival.
