The Sanya Street Circuit, also known as Haitang Bay Circuit, is a temporary street circuit located in the Haitang Bay area of Sanya, Hainan, China. It hosted the Sanya ePrix of the Formula E championship on March 23, 2019. The original layout was 2.236 km long with 11 turns, featuring two long straights and a hairpin. Prior to the race, the track surface was treated with a resin-type material to prevent breakup due to high temperatures. The pit and paddock area was constructed on a car park between resort hotels with the South China Sea as a backdrop. The circuit is set to return to Formula E in 2026 with an extended 2.520 km layout featuring 12 turns. The 2019 race was won by Jean-Eric Vergne after an eventful race with a red flag stoppage. Subsequent events were halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
