Circuit
Queensland Raceway is a permanent road racing circuit at Willowbank in Ipswich, Queensland, around 45 minutes west of central Brisbane. Opened in 1999 and widely known as "the Paperclip" for its simple, elongated shape, it was designed by Tony Slattery with input from Australian car and motorcycle racing authorities. The main national layout runs clockwise over roughly 3.126 km, is about 12 metres wide and features six corners, while shorter configurations allow the venue to host a range of events simultaneously. It is regarded as one of Queensland's premier motorsport facilities and a popular testing venue for teams. Over the years it has staged major national championship rounds, including the Supercars Championship, which it hosted until 2019, and the Australian Superbike Championship. Beyond top-level competition, the circuit supports club-level racing, drifting and ride and track days. Its relatively flat, low-grip surface and long straights make it a demanding venue for car setup and braking. The site forms part of the wider Ipswich motorsport precinct in the Willowbank area.
