Circuit
Pittsburgh International Race Complex, widely known as Pitt Race, is a multi-discipline road course set in the rolling hills of Wampum, Pennsylvania, about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh in Beaver County. The venue originated from a 1998 meeting between local attorneys Tom Wettach and Tim Silbaugh, who shared a passion for motorsport and assembled the Speed4U partnership and investors to build it. They retained noted circuit designer Alan Wilson, who shaped a 2.78-mile course on a reclaimed former strip-mine site to make the most of its significant elevation changes. Built in phases, the road course broke ground in December 2001 and opened in July 2002 as BeaveRun Motorsports Park, with a kart track and skid pad following in 2003. It was renamed Pittsburgh International Race Complex after Jim and Kathy Stout, owners of Virginia International Raceway, purchased it in 2011 and completed the long-planned southern extension. The full circuit can be split so that the North and South courses run simultaneously as independent loops. Its undulating layout has the feel of a twisty country road and earned acclaim from amateur and professional racers alike, and the facility carried FIM Grade A status for motorcycle competition. The complex hosted sports cars, formula cars and motorcycles, including MotoAmerica, until it was sold and ceased operating as a motorsports venue at the end of 2025.
