Circuit
Ningbo International Circuit is a motorsport facility near the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang province, China, in the coastal Beilun development area. Owned by automaker Geely through its Mitime Investments subsidiary, the project was launched in December 2015 and opened in August 2017 as one of several new tracks built to develop motorsport culture in the region. The 4.015 km main course was designed by Alan Wilson, the architect behind several American circuits, and is homologated to FIA Grade 2, allowing it to host all categories bar Formula One. The undulating layout runs to 23 turns and can be split into shorter circuit and club variants that may be used simultaneously. The facility, which cost around 900 million yuan, also includes a separate kart track, large elevated grandstands seating about 15,000, and commercial and leisure attractions. Ningbo made its international debut in October 2017 when it replaced Shanghai as host of the World Touring Car Championship's Race of China, going on to hold WTCR rounds in 2018 and 2019. It has also welcomed Blancpain GT Series Asia, China GT, the Chinese F4 series, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia and TCR Asia and TCR China competition. It remains a firm fixture on national and regional racing calendars.
