NCM Motorsports Park is a permanent road course in Bowling Green, Kentucky, sitting directly across Interstate 65 from the National Corvette Museum and the General Motors assembly plant that builds the car. The 'NCM' in its name stands for National Corvette Museum, the institution that commissioned the venue. First proposed in 2010 and broken ground on in June 2013, the roughly $20 million facility was completed in just over a year and opened in August 2014 to coincide with the museum's 20th anniversary. Its design borrows ideas from the Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans while remaining accessible to drivers of every skill level. The centrepiece road course can be split into two independent halves and run in five core configurations, with an optional Le Mans-style chicane adding further variations; the longest of these is the 3.15-mile Grand Full Course. Beyond the track the site includes a 21-acre autocross and skid pad, a control tower, classrooms, a paddock and a fuelling station. Although Corvettes are the local favourites and the venue serves as a testing base for the production Corvette and the Pratt & Miller racing programmes, management welcomes cars and motorcycles of all kinds. The variety of layouts has made it popular for manufacturer days, corporate events, track days, driver education and club racing.
