Circuit
Motorsport Park Hastings is a permanent road racing circuit located on the southeast edge of Hastings, Nebraska. The facility was conceived by Robert Hartman and George Anderson, broke ground in early 2006, and became operational in the autumn of that year. Its 2.15-mile (3.46 km) asphalt course was laid out by circuit designer Alan Wilson and features 13 turns across a 40-foot-wide ribbon of pavement. Three long straights allow speeds in excess of 100 mph, while generous run-off areas are intended to keep the layout accessible to a range of skill levels. The venue hosts a broad mix of motorsport activity, including club road racing, track days, motorcycle events, karting, drag racing, and driver instruction. National organisations such as the ChampCar Endurance Series, Porsche Club of America regions, and NASA racing groups run events at the circuit. In 2009 Forbes named it among the top places in the United States to drive fast legally. The site also includes garage condominiums, paddock space, and an on-site clubhouse.
