The Miami International Autodrome is a modern semi-permanent circuit laid out around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins, on the edge of Miami Gardens in Florida. Created to give Formula One a long-term base in South Florida, it hosted its first Miami Grand Prix in 2022 after years of failed attempts to bring a race to downtown locations such as Bayfront Park, which met fierce local opposition. The stadium solution, championed by developer Stephen Ross, offered a single securable campus on which to build a Grand Prix venue around an existing landmark. The track threads between perimeter roads and purpose-built sections across the stadium's parking areas, giving it a hybrid character that sits somewhere between a street course and a permanent facility, with wide open spaces and long acceleration zones boxed in by walls and event infrastructure. The Grand Prix configuration runs anti-clockwise over roughly 5.41 km with 19 corners, three DRS zones and top speeds quoted above 350 km/h. Max Verstappen won the inaugural race, and in 2024 Lando Norris took his maiden Formula One victory there during a Sprint-format weekend. To allow year-round running entirely on private land, operator South Florida Motorsports later added four shorter inner-loop configurations branded around the Marina and MIA loops. From 2026 the campus also hosts the FIA Formula E World Championship on a tighter dedicated layout, broadening the Autodrome's motorsport portfolio.
