Circuit
Set on the southern edge of Lousada in Portugal's Porto district, the Eurocircuito da Costilha is the country's foremost rallycross venue, operated by the Clube Automovel de Lousada. Unusually for a motorsport facility it sits within the town rather than in open countryside. The roughly one-kilometre lap is a mixed-surface course, blending tarmac with loose gravel, broadly split around 60 percent asphalt to 40 percent dirt, which rewards drivers who can manage abrupt changes in grip across a single lap. Lousada built its reputation as the traditional home of Portugal's round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship, hosting top-tier Euro rounds across roughly 1991 to 2008, and it has also staged events on the European Autocross Championship calendar. In more recent years the circuit returned to the international stage: it hosts a super-special stage of the World Rally Championship's Rally de Portugal, and following an extensive redesign with reprofiled corners and an updated joker lap it was selected to welcome the FIA World Rallycross Championship from 2025 after a long absence from the world series.
