Circuit
The Circuit de la Sarthe, located in Le Mans, France, is a permanent auto sport circuit known for hosting the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It gained notoriety as the site of the 1955 Le Mans disaster, the deadliest event in motorsport history. The track uniquely combines private, race-specific sections with public roads, which are only used during the 24 Hours of Le Mans and remain accessible to the public most of the year. Its primary configuration, the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, is 13.626 km long, making it one of the world's longest circuits. This layout demands extreme performance, with up to 85% of lap time spent at full throttle and cars slowing from over 322 km/h for sharp corners. The venue also features the shorter, permanent Bugatti Circuit and houses the Musée des 24 Heures du Mans at its main entrance.
