Circuit
Kari Motor Speedway is a purpose-built Formula Three auto racing circuit located in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore, India. The 2.100 km long track was inaugurated in 2003. It is named after S. Karivardhan, who also designed and built entry-level race cars. Part of the existing track was previously used as a runway for power gliders and for drag racing events in the late 1990s. In 2002, former racer B. Vijay Kumar purchased the land to build the track for national motorsport events. The circuit regularly hosts National Championship races for go-karts, motorcycle road racing, and formula racing events. It is approved by the CIK and FIA for races up to the Formula 3 category, including Formula Maruti, Formula LGB, and Formula Rolon Chevrolet cars. The track also serves motorcycle clubs, racing and karting schools, and is used for vehicle tests and driver training.
