Circuit
The Hyderabad Street Circuit was a temporary track laid out on the roads around NTR Gardens, on the edge of Hussain Sagar Lake in the heart of Hyderabad, India. It was built to host the country's first Formula E race, the Hyderabad ePrix, which ran in February 2023 as part of the 2022-23 World Championship season. Backed by the Telangana government, the venue sat close to the state Secretariat, with the lake and a giant statue of the Gautama Buddha forming a striking backdrop. An initial T-shaped design using a flyover drew criticism from drivers on simulators, so consultancy Driven International reworked the layout into a faster, more flowing course making greater use of the parkland roads. The finished lap measured around 2.835 kilometres and offered heavy braking zones and several chicanes, with the hairpin at Turn 3 providing the best overtaking chance. Unusually for a Formula E street venue, the circuit also hosted Indian Racing League rounds in December 2022 as shakedown events. Hyderabad's place on the calendar proved short-lived, and the race did not return after its single running.
A fast, demanding 18-turn street layout around NTR Gardens beside Hussain Sagar Lake, revised by Driven International from the original proposal into a flowing course with multiple chicanes. Used for the inaugural Hyderabad ePrix in 2023.
