Hill Climb
Harewood Speed Hillclimb is a tarmac hill climb venue off the A659 near the village of Harewood, north of Leeds in West Yorkshire. It is run by the Yorkshire Centre of the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), a club whose roots trace back to the Cyclecar Club of 1912 and which formed its Yorkshire Centre in 1922, going on to hold its first hill climb meeting at Harewood in 1962. A mid-1990s extension lengthened the course to around 1,584 yards (about 1.45 km), making it the longest speed hill climb course in mainland Britain. The circuit became a round of the RAC Hill Climb Championship, the forerunner of today's British Hill Climb Championship, from 1964, and continues to host two rounds of that championship most seasons among roughly a dozen meetings run between April and September. The venue also stages classic, historic and motorcycle hill climb events alongside the championship rounds. The outright hill record stood, as of 2025, at 46.39 seconds, set by Matt Ryder on 3 July 2022.

History
The BARC Yorkshire Centre's history goes back to the Cyclecar Club of 1912 and the Junior Car Club formed in Leeds in 1922; that Centre ran its first hill climb at Harewood in 1962, and the course joined the national RAC Hill Climb Championship calendar from 1964. A mid-1990s extension made Harewood the longest speed hill climb course in mainland Britain, at around 1.45 km.
