Elko Speedway is a paved short-track oval motorsport venue in Elko New Market, Minnesota, in the southern Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The 3/8-mile (0.6 km), high-banked asphalt oval broke ground in 1964 and opened in 1965, and it has operated continuously as a weekly short-track racing facility for roughly six decades. The track is NASCAR-sanctioned and hosts regular Saturday-night programs across divisions such as Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Thunder Cars, Power Stocks, and Legends cars. It has also welcomed touring series, including the ARCA Menards Series and the ASA Midwest Tour, and staged the first ARCA national-series race held in Minnesota in 2012. Beyond conventional racing, the speedway is known for special spectacles such as its "Eve of Destruction" night, featuring stunts, jet-truck runs, and school-bus figure-eight events. The complex also operates an on-site drive-in movie theater, and an on-site barbecue restaurant serves race-day crowds. Together these features make the venue a multi-purpose entertainment destination as well as a competitive oval-racing circuit.
