Circuit

DriveIt NQ is a permanent road-racing circuit and driver-training facility at Calcium, in the Lansdown precinct south of Townsville in North Queensland. The project grew out of the region's appetite for motorsport, buoyed by the success of the Townsville 500 street race, and was driven by training operator Pat Driscoll, who leased the land in 2016. Plans emerged publicly in September 2018 and construction began in August 2020, with input from racing figures including Jack Miller, Paul Morris and Molly Taylor. Backed by around AU$22 million in state and federal funding, the asphalt was completed in early 2023 and the circuit opened in May 2023. The road course measures 2.75 kilometres and runs through 12 corners, giving North Queensland its first dedicated permanent racing venue. Alongside competition it functions as a driver-training centre, hosting club racing and Motor Events programmes. As the newest major circuit in the region, it has quickly become a focal point for grassroots and state-level motorsport in tropical Queensland.
