Circuit

Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit is a permanent racing facility in the Eastern New District near Jianyang, on the outskirts of Chengdu in China's Sichuan Province, roughly 50 km east of the city centre. Construction began in 2022 and the venue opened on 1 December 2023, making it one of the newest international-grade circuits in China and the only one of its kind in the country's southwest. The project was led by Geely's motorsport division, Mitime, with backing from provincial and city authorities as part of Chengdu's wider drive to host major sporting and cultural events. Designed to demanding FIA standards, the circuit was issued a Grade 2 licence while being built to specifications intended to support a higher grade in future. The lap winds through 19 corners over a little more than 3.2 km, with the track falling and rising by close to 20 metres across its length. Turn 1, a downhill right-hander taken at high speed, is among its signature features. A long back straight gives drivers a clear overtaking opportunity before the technical sections that follow. The inaugural weekend was headlined by the finale of the China Endurance Championship, and the circuit has since hosted FIA Formula 4 Chinese Championship rounds, Lotus Cup China and national drift events. Alongside the track sit an extensive paddock and skidpad for driving experiences, and a Lotus-themed driving park has been planned for the site. The venue forms part of a broader development that pairs motorsport with commercial and tourism facilities.
