FIM Sportbike World Championship
WorldSPB: the WorldSBK paddock's new entry class — production middleweights balanced to about 90hp, replacing WorldSSP300.
2026 · 8 of 8About WorldSPB
The FIM Sportbike World Championship (WorldSPB) is the new entry class of the Superbike World Championship paddock, holding its inaugural season in 2026 as the replacement for the Supersport 300 World Championship. Production middleweights balanced to around 90hp race as a support class at the European WorldSBK rounds, giving riders aged 16 to 25 a world-championship platform on affordable machinery. The grid is deliberately mixed rather than twin-only: the Yamaha R7 and Suzuki GSX-8R twins line up against the Triumph Daytona 660 triple and the four-cylinder Kove 450RR and Kawasaki ZX-6R, with Aprilia also entered, across eight rounds and two races a weekend.
