About Walter Hayes Trophy
The Walter Hayes Trophy is a non-championship Formula Ford 1600 race held each November at Silverstone, run since 2001 and sanctioned by the HSCC. Cars use the Ford Kent engine, and drivers work through heats, progression and last-chance races and semi-finals to reach the Grand Final. It is named after Walter Hayes, the Ford executive behind the Cosworth DFV.
