The intermediate class of grand prix motorcycle racing — spec Triumph engines, prototype chassis, and the last step before MotoGP.
2026 · 18 of 22About Moto2
Moto2 is the intermediate class of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix, sitting between the entry-level Moto3 class and the premier MotoGP class. Since 2019 all competitors have used the same Triumph 765cc three-cylinder engine in purpose-built prototype chassis from constructors such as Kalex, Boscoscuro and MV Agusta, making it a category in which rider talent and chassis development are the key differentiators. Rounds run alongside MotoGP and Moto3 over the same Grand Prix weekends, and the class has served as the final proving ground for champions before they step up to MotoGP.
