About ARRC
The FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) stands as the premier motorcycle road racing series in Asia, having captivated fans and developed talent since its inception in 1996. Sanctioned by FIM Asia, the championship was established with the core mission of fostering motorcycle racing talent within the continent, providing a crucial platform for riders to hone their skills and compete at an international level. Over the decades, ARRC has grown significantly, becoming a highly competitive and respected series that showcases the best of Asian motorcycle racing. The championship features multiple competitive classes, catering to various levels of machinery and rider experience. The pinnacle class is the Asia Superbike 1000cc (ASB1000), introduced in 2019, which sees riders battle on powerful 1000cc superbikes. Other key categories include SuperSports 600cc (SS600), Asia Production 250cc (AP250), and the highly popular Underbone 150cc (UB150), which highlights the unique racing culture of Southeast Asia. Each race weekend typically comprises two races per class, with points awarded following a standard FIM system (25 for first place, 20 for second, and so on), ensuring intense championship battles across the season. The series travels to iconic circuits across the region, including Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia. ARRC has been instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous riders who have gone on to achieve success on the global stage, serving as a vital stepping stone towards championships like MotoGP and WorldSBK. Notable champions and alumni include riders such as Katsuaki Fujiwara, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman, and Md Zaqhwan Zaidi, among many others who have left their mark on the series. As a vibrant and highly competitive championship, the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship continues to be the benchmark for motorcycle road racing in Asia, consistently delivering thrilling action and nurturing the next generation of racing stars under the governance of FIM Asia.
